'Angels' offer help

Dear editor:

With so many examples in the news of individuals committing crimes against others, I would like everyone to know how I came across two Angels at Dollar General Store one night after accidentally locking myself out of my car. After the roadside service of my car insurance company was notified that I needed help getting into my car, I was left stranded at the Dollar General Store located on Carpenter Dam and Shady Grove Road, and the store was closing for the night. Hannah Holden and Matthew Austin, after having worked their shifts, stayed there with me, outside the store, waiting for hours for the roadside service, which never showed up. Some other group was finally called and I made it home after midnight, as I suppose Hannah and Matt finally did, as well.

I was so thankful not to have had to wait there alone. The next day, I learned that the roadside service is the same service for all but three insurance companies, and our state insurance commission needs to look into this, in my opinion, as I understand there are problems with their services, with what looks to me to basically be a monopoly. If you never want to find yourself stranded, you may want to look into who your own roadside service for your insurance coverage happens to be, before it's too late.

Meanwhile, go by the Dollar General Store on Carpenter Dam Road and say hello to a couple of angels!
