Lady Ram netters sweep Fairview

Lakeside's Shelby Little just missed a triple-double in the Lady Rams' 3-0 victory over visiting Camden Fairview Thursday.

Little recorded eight kills, 22 assists and eight digs in the 25-12, 25-5, 25-9 triumph. Erica Hendrix totaled 14 digs and Mady Rottinghaus added 11 kills, two solo blocks and two block assists. Also helping the Lady Rams were Hannah Whorton, 16 assists and four aces; Callie Dodd, 11 kills with no errors; and Gaylynn Green, six kills, eight digs and six aces.

Lakeside is 19-2 before a road match Tuesday with Lake Hamilton.

Lakeside's junior varsity defeated Fairview 25-21, 25-10, Macie Hendrix with 10 assists and six digs for the Lady Rams. Meghan Fuller-Freeman recorded kills and two solo blocks, Daelynn White with eight digs, Jaiden Thomas five kills and Lindsey Davis five assists.

The junior Lady Rams (11-4) are entered in Fountain Lake's varsity tournament Saturday at Bass Gymnasium.

Lakeside's eighth- and ninth-grade volleyball teams improved their combined record to 29-3 with a sweep Tuesday night of visiting Fountain Lake.

Zoe Cattaneo collected 10 service points, one kill and three digs in the ninth-grade's 25-15, 25-17 triumph. Olivia Lawrence and Georgia Gooch each had six service points, Lawrence with two kills and six assists. Also contributing to the victory were Ainsley Rottinghaus and Cailin Ward, three kills each; Abby Mahoney, three kills and a solo block; Maddie Trusty, four kills and a solo block, and Molly Stineman, two kills and six digs.

Lakeside went to 4-0 in conference play and 19-1 overal before a road match Thursday with Camden Fairview.

The eighth-grade Lady Rams (10-2) won 25-12, 25-20 with Ava Monte leading with 10 service points. Taylor Ramirez adde eight service points and Wesley Divers six.

Hogs' Red-White game

set Oct. 23 at Walton

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas' men's basketball team is holding its annual Red-White intrasquad game Sunday, Oct. 23 here at Walton Arena.

Free and open to the public, the scrimmage will begin at 4 p.m. with doors to Walton Arena opening at 3 p.m. Head coach Mike Anderson and the Razorbacks are asking fans to bring a non-perishable food item to donate with collection points at each entrance. All the items donated will benefit the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry.

Rosters for the Red-White scrimmage will be released at a later date.

Once doors open at 3 p.m., fans can make their way to the southeast and southwest concourse to meet the Razorbacks, who will be signing autographs from 3-3:45 p.m. Fans are encouraged to park in lots 46, 56, 56B, 56D and 60.
