Gastroenterology staff
Arkansas Gastroenterology Associates and Endoscopy Center welcomes advanced practice registered nurse Jody Purifoy.
Purifoy holds a Doctoral of Nursing Education and national board certification as an acute care nurse practitioner obtained at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She joins the practice after 23 years at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science and brings a holistic, quality-based, compassionate approach to the health care team. Her prior experience has been most recently in the Urology Department at UAMS, specializing in general urology, constipation and pelvic abdominal pain. She was a urinary/fecal incontinence nurse prior to that and worked as a surgical technician in the operating room before becoming a registered nurse.
As a member of our G.I. health care team, partnering with Drs. John Brandt and Steven Mathews, Purifoy provides a comprehensive approach for patients with both upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions, as well as liver, gallbladder and pancreatic conditions.
She is an active member of the AGA, AUA, AACNP, president of the Razorback Chapter of the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates and serves on the National Education Committee for APPs with the AUA.
