A Hot Springs man was arrested on felony warrants Monday for allegedly removing multiple items from another man's car earlier this month.

Todd David Strode, 47, of 5703 Central Ave., was taken into custody at his residence at around 2:15 p.m. and charged with breaking or entering and theft of property, each punishable by up to six years in prison. He was later released on a $5,000 bond and is set to appear in Garland County District Court on May 6.

According to the affidavit, on April 14, the victim made a report to the Garland County Sheriff's Department about several items being stolen from his truck at Echo Canyon Marina Boat Ramp in Royal.

GCSD Investigator Brandon Huckaba made contact with the victim, who gave a list of the missing items, including two tool bags, a backpack containing cash, turkey calls and clothes, a tow strap and a folding tire iron, with an estimated total value of $1,225.

The victim said he received a phone call from a witness, 43, who told his truck was being "gone through" by a white male, who was taking items out of the victim's truck and putting them in his own truck.

Huckaba made contact with the witness who said his son drove over and got the license plate of the suspect vehicle. The witness said he lived on Blakely Dam Road and could see the boat ramp from his residence and saw the suspect, who he didn't recognize, going through the victim's pickup and then leave the scene in a red Dodge pickup.

Huckaba made contact with the witness' son, who confirmed he saw the suspect taking items from the victim's toolbox in the back of his pickup and "going through" the cab of the pickup, taking items from under the seat. He said the suspect put the items in his pickup and left.

GCSD ran the submitted license plate number, which revealed the vehicle was registered to Strode. A photo lineup featuring Strode and five other white males was shown to the witness' son who identified Strode as the men he had seen.
