Narcotics search warrants executed at two residences on Hudson Street early Friday resulted in the arrest of two local men and two local women on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

Latosha Lynn Williams, 31, of 103 Hudson St., and Timothy Earl Johnson, 35, who lists a Miller Street address, were both taken into custody shortly after 6 a.m. at Williams' residence and each charged with felony counts of possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver and distribution of a controlled substance near certain facilities, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, punishable by up to six years, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Williams was also charged with felony counts of unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate certain crimes, punishable by up to 20 years, and possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to six years, and a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

Johnson

Johnson, who also had warrants for two counts of failure to appear, was also charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, punishable by up to six years, and a misdemeanor count of refusal to submit to arrest.

Both remained in custody Monday with Johnson held on $16,500 bond and Williams held on $15,500. Both are set to appear Aug. 15 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, officers with the Hot Springs Police Special Investigations Narcotics Unit and the S.W.A.T. team executed the warrant on the Hudson Street residence and encountered Johnson on the front porch. He allegedly "became very uncooperative" and would not comply with the officers' commands.

Johnson finally partially complied by getting on his knees but continued yelling, the affidavit states. Before he could get back up, S.W.A.T. team officers took him to the ground with minimal force as Johnson began kicking and resisting.

They were finally able to get him handcuffed and into a waiting unit after a short struggle. At this time, Williams emerged from the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Upon entering the residence, officers located a 6-month-old baby lying on the sofa unattended.

Officers allegedly located a plastic bag with 0.2 gram of a white powder substance, and a bag of suspected marijuana, approximately 1.7 grams, on the porch. Inside the residence, they found two glass smoking pipes and a pellet pistol that was "realistic in looks."

The affidavit notes the residence, which was not owned by Williams, is located within 865 feet of a drug or alcohol facility.

At approximately the same time as the raid on Williams' residence, other officers with the police narcotics unit executed a warrant at 207 Hudson St., the listed residence of Carlos Lamont Crawford, 38, and Juanita Frankie Hamilton, 57, with the assistance of the Garland County Sheriff's Department's Tactical Response Team.

Crawford and Hamilton were both located inside and each charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate certain crimes, all punishable by up to six years, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Crawford was later released on $9,500 bond while Hamilton remained in custody Monday in lieu of the same bond. Both are set to appear Aug. 15 in district court.

According to the affidavit, officers searched the residence and allegedly located two smoking pipes with marijuana residue, baggies with white crystal residue, 11 rounds of .25-caliber automatic pistol ammunition, a glass jar with marijuana residue, a narcotics grinder, a bag with 4 grams of marijuana and a device used to roll marijuana cigarettes.

It was noted the property was being leased and didn't belong to Crawford or Hamilton.

• A routine traffic stop Friday night ended with the arrest of a reportedly homeless woman on felony drug charges after officers allegedly located 252 grams, or about 9 ounces, of marijuana in her car.

Young

Ja'Loreya Dominique Young, 18, who lists no permanent address, was taken into custody shortly after 8 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to six years.

She remained in custody Monday in lieu of $6,000 bond and is set to appear Aug. 15 in district court.

According to the affidavit, shortly after 7:30 p.m., police Officer Robert Plyler made a traffic stop on an older model Chevrolet Camaro in the 1200 block of Central Avenue after reportedly noting the driver, later identified as Young, and front seat passenger, 15, were not wearing seat belts.

Plyler spoke to Young who told him she didn't have her driver's license or proof of insurance and noted the odor of marijuana. Both Young and the passenger denied there were drugs in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and in the center console, officers found a plastic bag with 173.2 grams of marijuana and a glass Mason jar with another 789 grams of marijuana and located digital scales beside the driver's door.

Officers with the 18th Judicial District East Drug Task Force were notified and seized the vehicle and two cellphones along with the drugs. In addition to the felony charges, Young was cited for no driver's license, no proof of insurance and two counts of not wearing a seat belt since the passenger was a minor.
