A 29-year-old black male from Hot Springs was shot to death Monday night at the Valero station located at the intersection of Grand and Central avenues, according to Hot Springs police Cpl. Kirk Zaner.

Zaner told a reporter at the scene that the male, whose name was not being released, appeared to have been shot near the gas pumps, then ran to the southernmost portion of the station's parking lot and collapsed.

Emergency medical technicians attempted to revive the male, but he was later declared dead at the scene, according to Zaner.

Police initially responded to a reported shooting at the Valero, located at 1201 Central Ave., at around 8:45 p.m. Monday.

Zaner said no one has been taken into custody, but the department was working multiple leads as of 10:44 p.m. Monday.
