A Tennessee woman was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly stabbing her ex-boyfriend in the arm.

Moneshia Nicole Everett, 35, who lists a Memphis, Tenn., address, was taken into custody around 3 a.m. Saturday and charged with a felony count of second-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

She remained in custody Monday in lieu of zero bond, and is set to appear in Garland County District Court on Sept. 5.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Hot Springs police responded to the emergency department of National Park Medical Center in reference to a stabbing victim, who told officers he had been involved in an argument with his ex-girlfriend, later identified as Everett, at around 1 a.m. at his residence on Pansy Street before he left for work.

He said he left the residence in his car, but returned a short time later because he was "afraid she was going to burn down my house."

Once back at his residence, he said he saw Everett exiting his neighbor's house brandishing a large knife. He said he briefly exited his vehicle and resumed arguing with her.

After he returned to his car, he noted she was acting "extremely aggressive," so he attempted to back the vehicle out of the driveway. While the vehicle was in reverse, she allegedly advanced toward him and began striking the hood of his vehicle with the knife.

She then allegedly reached in the window and stabbed him in the upper left arm. He said he continued backing out of the driveway and drove himself to the hospital.

Patrol officers reportedly located Everett at the victim's residence and placed her into custody. She allegedly admitted to stabbing the victim in the arm, but claimed he was also trying to run her over.

She reportedly told police she has a history of mental illness and had been "smoking crack" before the incident.
