Kidnapping suspects in custody

Two suspects sought by Hot Springs police in connection with the alleged Nov. 8 kidnapping of a 19-year-old local woman reportedly both turned themselves in at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sgt. Chris Lackey said.

Djuan Larell Goodman, 21, and Marcus Tre Bland, 20, both of Hot Springs, are charged with felony counts of kidnapping, punishable by up to life in prison, aggravated assault and second-degree battery, each punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor charge of theft of property.

Goodman was reportedly booked into the Garland County Detention Center at 2:11 p.m. and Bland was booked in at 2:58 p.m. Goodman also had a warrant for contempt of court and Bland had a warrant for theft by receiving.

According to reports, Shortly before 8 p.m. Nov. 8, officers responded to Kroger, 3341 Central Ave., to a reported kidnapping and made contact with the victim, who said she had been kidnapped by two known suspects.

The victim, who is not being identified, said duct tape was placed on her hands, feet, mouth and eyes, and she was placed in the back seat of a vehicle and driven away. She said the vehicle eventually stopped and she was able to escape. A witness told police he saw the suspects flee the scene in a gold BMW after the victim jumped out screaming.
