A burn ban remains in effect for Garland County.

Garland County, along with much of the state, is under a Red Flag Warning from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday because critical fire weather conditions.

A Red Flag Warning is issued when there is a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures, which can contribute to extreme fire behavior, according to the National Weather Service.

Many areas of the state are also in severe to extreme drought, so even in areas where winds may not get as strong, the low humidity and very dry conditions will still generate dangerous wild fire conditions, the Weather Service said.

Expect some improving wild fire conditions by this evening as winds decrease and humidity values increase. However, no rainfall is forecast for the next several days, so a high wildfire danger will persist, it said.

The warned area also includes Boone, Marion, Baxter, Fulton, Sharp, Newton, Searcy, Stone, Izard, Independence, Johnson, Pope, Van Buren, Cleburne, Jackson, Logan, Conway, Faulkner, White, Woodruff, Scott, Yell, Perry, Polk, Montgomery, Saline, Pulaski, Lonoke, Prairie, Monroe, Pike, Clark, Hot Spring, Grant, Jefferson, Arkansas, Dallas, Cleveland, Lincoln, Desha, Ouachita,

Calhoun, Bradley, and Drew counties.
