A Hot Springs man was arrested Monday on felony charges at a local gas station after Garland County sheriff's deputies noted he appeared intoxicated and allegedly located drugs and a firearm inside his vehicle.

Isaac Anthony Love, 28, who lists a Fox Pass Cutoff address, was taken into custody at around 2 p.m. Monday and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison, felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of zero bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

In the probable cause affidavit, Sgt. Josh Cannon and Investigator Matthew Ellis saw a black SUV pull into a gas station in the 100 block of Highway 7 north and observed a possibly intoxicated driver exit the vehicle. The driver, later identified as Love, was reportedly unsteady on his feet and smelled of marijuana.

Cannon noted Love had bloodshot, watery eyes and saliva in the corners of his mouth. When asked if he had been smoking marijuana, Love allegedly responded, "Yeah, about an hour ago."

Cannon reportedly observed a rifle sitting in the front seat that Love claimed he had been using for squirrel hunting. Due to the high volume of traffic in the area, Love was arrested for DWI without conducting a field sobriety test.

During a pat down search, Cannon allegedly located a jar containing suspected marijuana on Love's person. A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a second container of marijuana, a glass smoking pipe and the loaded rifle. The total of marijuana reportedly found was 37.7 grams, the affidavit states.
