A Lonsdale man was arrested Friday on a felony battery charge in connection with the shooting of a woman outside his residence early that morning.

Daniel Tyler Fisher, 26, of 2798 Highway 128, was taken into custody at a nearby neighbor's residence and later charged with first-degree battery, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He was later released on $5,000 bond and is set to appear Jan. 8 in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, at around 3:12 a.m. Friday, Garland County sheriff's dispatchers received a call of shots fired in the 2700 block of Highway 128 in Lonsdale with one person sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The caller reportedly said "Tyler" was the shooter.

Deputies responded to the residence at 2798 Highway 128 and located a woman, 32, with gunshot wounds to her back. The woman was airlifted to an area hospital by LifeNet Air.

Dispatchers received a call from a neighboring family member who said Fisher was at her residence. Deputies located Fisher there and took him into custody without incident.

When questioned later by investigators, Fisher reportedly admitted to firing two to three rounds toward a black car in an attempt "to scare the individuals away." He stated he locked the .22-caliber rifle he had fired in his gun safe in his bedroom and the keys to the safe were on top of his dresser in his closet.

Around 6:45 a.m., investigators executed a search warrant on Fisher's residence and located a gun safe in the closet of the master bedroom and found the keys on top of a dresser in the closet just as Fisher had described. They opened the safe and recovered a .22-caliber rifle and seized it as evidence.

Investigators interviewed multiple witnesses at the scene before arresting Fisher, a release from the sheriff's department said Friday.

Investigators also arrested Lashanda Sue Wesberry, 29, who lists a Copper Penny Trail address, and Curtis Dewayne George, 38, at the scene and charged each with a felony count of theft by receiving, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, according to the release.

The release did not indicate the connection between the two suspects and the shooting.

George was later released on $5,000 bond, but Wesberry remained in custody as of Friday afternoon. Both are set to appear Jan. 8 in district court.

The release noted the investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone with information should contact sheriff's investigators at 622-3660.
