Armed robbery suspects sought

Garland County sheriff's investigators on Tuesday released photographs taken from security video of two suspects reportedly involved in the armed robbery of a local variety store late Sunday.

A cashier at the Dollar General, 830 Mountain Pine Road, said two white males ran into the store around 8 p.m., one holding a socket wrench and one armed with a pistol, and forced her to give them money from the store's register and safe. The two suspects then fled the store in an unknown direction.

On Tuesday, GCSD Investigator Russell Severns released three photos obtained from the store's security video showing the suspects as they entered the store and one depicting the suspect with the pistol at the counter, holding the gun on the cashier.

The suspects both face charges of aggravated robbery, a felony punishable by up to life in prison. Anyone with information about the identity of either suspect or information about the robbery should contact Severns at 622-3696 or the GCSD's 24-hour, anonymous hotline at 622-3674.
