NAACP topic: untold story of HS schools
The NAACP, Unit 6013, will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at Webb Community Center, 127 Pleasant St. The 74-year-old civil rights organization will be addressed by scholar and historian Jeri D. Maghoney. Her topic will be "The Untold Story of Hot Springs Schools -- Race and Ethnicity."
Maghoney is an undergraduate student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she is majoring in history with double minor in secondary education and social studies. She completed a research paper titled, "In the Fullness of Time: The Desegregation of the Hot Springs School District, 1954-1970."
