HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- The Hot Springs Village Breakfast Lions will host the 40th annual Chili Day fundraiser on March 11 in the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Way. The lunch service will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 4-7 p.m.

Since 1977, Lions members have been making chili from their own recipe, then serving it up with plenty of cheese on top and crackers on the side. A slice of pie and cold drink will round out the meal, and ice cream will also be available. Tickets are $10, or a quart of chili can be purchased to take home for $7.

Attendees can also take part in a great silent auction, happening in the lobby, and there will be musical entertainment and raffle drawings.

Chili Day has helped the HSV Breakfast Lions fund service projects including focus classes and support groups for visually impaired and blind people, free vision screenings for young students in the area, additional exams and glasses for children if the family is unable to pay, work with World Services for the Blind in Little Rock, and alongside Lions Club International for programs that help during disasters throughout the world.

Every dollar of the money raised is used for the local, national and international services of Lions Club. All costs for the event are borne by HSV club members, who also donate their time.
