Reed leaving LH after one season

PEARCY -- For the second straight year, Lake Hamilton is searching for a new head football coach.

Jeremy Reed was announced Monday night as the new head coach at Yukon, Okla., ending his Lake Hamilton tenure after just one season.

Reed led the Wolves to a 6-5 record in his lone season at the helm, losing to Searcy in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs at Wolf Stadium.

He now returns to Oklahoma where he previously spent three seasons as offensive coordinator at Ardmore, one season as head coach at Colgate, three seasons as head coach at Dickson and two seasons as head coach at Altus, winning the Class 5A state title in 2015 at Altus.

Reed succeeded Jerry Clay at Lake Hamilton, who retired in 2015 with a record of 211-113 in 28 seasons at the school, winning 10 conference titles and state championships in 1992 and 2008.

Yukon is coming off an 0-10 season under Brian Sauser, and Reed will be the team's fourth head coach in the last five seasons.

Lake Hamilton joins Sheridan and Texarkana as the third team in conference 6A-West with a coaching vacancy this offseason.
