Dangerous situation

Dear editor:

A dangerous situation exists at the intersection of Highway 270 and Mountain Pine Road. I have reported it twice during the past six months, but nothing has been done to correct it. Perhaps I was calling the wrong place.

The problem is that the "shade" for the green light coming into town from Mount Ida is missing. Because Mountain Pine Road, coming from the direction of the college, intersects 270 at a 45-degree rather than a 90-degree angle and no "shade" is on the 270 green light, it is possible to see both a green and red light on Mountain Pine Road at the same time. This can be very confusing, especially if someone happens to be partially distracted.

It would be nice if someone would replace the "shade" on the green light on 270 so it's not visible from Mountain Pine Road. This could easily help prevent an accident.
