Women's Foundation hosts Girls of Promise

NORTH LITTLE ROCK -- The Women's Foundation of Arkansas will host the free Girls of Promise Coding Summit Thursday morning for female high school students to help them improve their coding skills.

The Coding Summit will be held Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the R.J. Wills Auditorium on the main campus of the University of Arkansas -- Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock. Girls from across the state will be able to improve their skills in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and other STEM-related fields, particularly coding.

The program will be provided at no cost to the participants or their chaperones.

The Women's Foundation served 350 girls in grades 6-12 and plan to reach 400 students this year with the intent of being a leading equity partner for girls in STEM and computer science education through all Girls of Promise offerings, which include two summits, a conference for eighth-grade girls and a Tech for Good coding application contest.
