Marlee Mayhood, 6, left, and her brother, Zander Mayhood, 3, take a trip down a waterslide Saturday during the Summerthon event held by Hot Springs police and Hot Springs Animal Services at the shelter, 319 Davidson Drive. Cpl. Kirk Zaner said Monday more than 300 people came by throughout the day, with five dogs and one cat being adopted, several families expressing interest in returning to adopt, 10 owned pets being microchipped and $100 in donations raised. The event was held to give people a chance to see the shelter and give some pets a new home.
