Jehovah's Witnesses Convention entitled 'Don't give up!'

Many people today experience disappointment, but the Bible tells them to "Don't give up!" That is the fitting theme of this year's convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. Thousands of people are expected to travel to Hot Springs to attend this free public event which will highlight how "we can enjoy a happy life now and how we can have a bright outlook for the future," a news release said. The convention will be held at the Bank of the Ozarks Arena, 134 Convention Blvd, June 23-25. The Witnesses are distributing a special invitation to welcome the public.

The program will start at 9:20 a.m. June 23 with a music-video presentation. Next, the opening talk will be the chairman's address on the theme: "We Must Not Give Up -- Especially Now!" What will be a highlight of the program? A three-part film on the theme "Remember the Wife of Lot," which will explore a modern-day drama based on the scriptural warning of Lot's wife. The first segment of the film will start at 3:05 p.m. June 23. An outline of the program and the video, "Attend the Convention," can be found at http://www.jw.org.

A total of three conventions will be held in English in Arkansas with the same theme, "Don't give up!" The other locations are in Little Rock at the Governor's Halls, Statehouse Convention Center, June 30 to July 2; and Fort Smith at the Convention Center Exhibit Hall from July 7-9. The program will begin by 9:20 a.m. each day.
