Early childhood specialist Janet Massey led educators in hands-on activities June 5 during the Exploring Nature with Children workshop hosted by National Park College's Child Care Aware of West Central Arkansas in the Laboratory Science Building. The workshop focused on the importance of incorporating nature when teaching preschool-aged children in order to aid in brain development. Attendees followed Massey to explore nature looking for shapes, painting with dirt and creating stories about inanimate objects found in nature.
