A Hot Springs man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly punching his fiancee in the face during an argument.

Mark Russell Webb, 55, of 143 River Heights Terrace, was taken into custody at his residence around 2:15 a.m. and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail. He was initially held without bond, but was later released on $1,000 bond and is set to appear in Garland County District Court April 3.

According to the affidavit, at approximately 1:25 a.m. Saturday, Garland County sheriff's Deputy Aaron Bowerman received a call in reference to a possible domestic battery and made contact with the female victim in the parking lot at Wal-Mart, 1601 Albert Pike Road.

She told Bowerman she had been in an argument with her fiance, identified as Webb, at their residence. She said he had just had surgery on his foot and kept asking her to do things for him, but she just wanted to go to bed. She said the argument then became physical and Webb punched her in her left cheek.

Bowerman took photos of the victim's face and then he and GCSD Sgt. Roy Williams went to the couple's residence and made contact with Webb and took him into custody without incident.
