Smith named Airport Wine & Spirits manager

Airport Wine & Spirits, 1210 Airport Rd., has named Ariel Smith as its new store manager.

Smith is a native of Lake Village, Ark. and graduated from the University of West Alabama with a master's in Counseling Psychology.

She has been a community volunteer for years, helping with organizations such as the Special Olympics, teaching Vacation Bible School, organizing community beautification projects, and being a t-ball coach.

Smith is a former member of the Heritage Club, a women's community service club in Lake Village, for which she has also served as president.

She pursued her love for sports and working with children by becoming director of Lake Village's Parks & Recreation Department, where she wore many hats including management, public relations, event coordination, marketing, and working with grants.

After 10 years managing the department, Smith retired and moved to Hot Springs where she became involved in the world of horse racing. She has owned several horses and has become involved in horse breeding.

Smith made the decision to rejoin the workforce and put her managerial skills to use at Airport Wine & Spirits.
