Daylily Society topic on hybridizing daylilies

The Hot Springs Daylily Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Christian Life Center, 218 Pratt St. The program will be "The History of Hybridizing Daylilies" by Sharon Dent. Guests are welcome.

Dent retired in Florida and she and her husband moved back to their home state. She became a Master Gardener in 2007 and was president of Garland County Master Gardeners in 2011-2012. She is past president of the Ouachita Hosta and Shade Plant Society and past president of the Hot Springs Daylily Society.

HSV Morning Connection holds silent auction

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Karen Jordan will speak at the Silent Auction Fall Fundraiser, featuring Dr. Essie Belle, aka Darlene Phillips, as emcee, at the Hot Springs Village Morning Connection from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at Diamante Golf Club, 2000 Country Club Drive.

Jordan, speaker and author of "Words That Change Everything," encourages others to tell the stories that matter most, especially their faith and family stories. A circuit speaker for Stonecroft, she serves as a keynote speaker for faith-based groups, presents workshops for women's conferences and retreats, and teaches a weekly women's Bible study.

Phillips

Phillips is a bona fide "non-degreed doctor of practically everything!" Her wisdom and practical tips on everything from aging to gardening to relational issues has made her a "popular speaker" at many organizations and clubs.

Members of the Morning Connection will donate items to be auctioned off to benefit the HSV Morning Connection and Stonecroft ministries.

There is no membership or dues to attend. Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. All area women are welcome for the breakfast buffet, inspirational speakers and fellowship; cost of $15 is inclusive.
