Lake Catherine State Park is set to host two events over the Thanksgiving holiday this week.
On Friday, the park will host its annual Green Friday event in conjunction with a Dutch oven cooking demonstration and a guided hike. Patrons are encouraged to attend the event and avoid the shopping crowds in an effort to stay "green." Attendees can enjoy the park's waterfall, miles of hiking trails, and cabins.
On Saturday, the park will host its annual Turkey Trot 5K. This is a fun run; there is no time limit or first place medals.
Those interested should meet at the Lake Catherine State Park Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event. The run will begin at 9 a.m.
