Mary Reid Warner, governor of the Arkansas Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars, explains the membership requirements to an unidentified attendee during the Fall Arkansas Genealogical Conference. In 1962, the AGS was founded by a group dedicated to preserving and sharing Arkansas genealogical material. The purpose of the society is to promote family history research, educate persons in genealogical research methods and the use of historical records, publish articles pertaining to Arkansas ancestors, and preserve and make accessible historical, genealogical and biographical sources pertaining to Arkansas.
