LHJH takes wins over Bryant

BRYANT -- Lake Hamilton used a big fourth quarter to take a 42-36 win over Bryant here Monday night.

Trailing 29-27 after three quarters, Hayleigh Wyrick sank five of six at the free throw line in the fourth to help lift the junior Lady Wolves to the win as they outscored the home team 15-7.

The junior Lady Wolves took a 13-10 lead in the opening quarter, but Bryant bounced back to take a 21-20 lead at the break.

Wyrick led the junior Lady Wolves with 14 points, Aspen Thornton added 12, Aryn Hughes nine, Tia Mullenix five and Ginny Higginbotham 2.

Lake Hamilton hosts Benton Thursday for another conference matchup.

Boys

BRYANT -- Lake Hamilton's junior boys picked up their first conference win Monday as they downed Bryant 30-25.

Bryant took a 13-12 lead into the break, but Lake Hamilton put up 23 in the second half while allowing 17 to take the win, including eight big free throws in the final minutes of the game.

Freshman Carson Harris and eighth grader Chase Jessup led the junior Wolves with 10 points each.

The team hosts Benton Thursday at Wolf Arena.

Lakeside-Hope

Lakeside's eighth and ninth grade girls teams dominated visiting Hope at Lakeside Athletic Complex Monday night.

The eighth grade team rolled to a 54-11 win, holding Hope scoreless in the first and fourth. Lakeside scored 14 in each of the first two quarters for a 28-2 lead at the break, and the junior Lady Rams outscored Hope 12-9 in the third before sealing the win in the fourth.

Adrianna Howell led Lakeside with 12 points, Paige Hines and Ronni Formby adding six each and Maddie Davenport five. The team advances to 3-0 with the win.

* The ninth grade girls gave up two points in each of the first three quarters as they rolled to a 39-6 win Monday night.

Lakeside took a 26-4 lead into the break after setting a 12-point buffer in the opening six minutes. Lakeside added six in the third for a 32-6 lead before securing the win with seven in the final period.

Erika Bittinger and Adache Igbokidi led the ninth grade girls with eight points each, Jaiden Drake added six and Madly Trusty five. The team moves to 4-2 with the win.

Arkansas women hosting

Abilene Christian

FAYETTEVILLE -- After nearly two straight weeks on the road, the University of Arkansas women's basketball team will host Abilene Christian University tonight at 7 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena.

Fans can receive a $2 admission by bringing a non-perishable canned food item to help fight hunger. Doors open at 6 p.m. with collection points at the south and west entrances of the arena.

Malica Monk and Devin Cosper continue to lead the Razorbacks (4-2) with over 19 points per game, Cosper recording 23 treys already to match her 2016-17 season total. Cosper leads the Southeastern Conference with 3.8 makes per game from outside the arc.

Both Monk and Cosper have scored in double-digits in each of the six games this season with Cosper posting three double-doubles. Monk's ball control has helped to lift Arkansas to second in the country with just 9.3 turnovers per game.

ACU (3-1) had a 65-44 setback last weekend at Southern Methodist, its first loss of the season.

Dominique Golightly averages 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game to lead the team. The Wildcats have already posted two games with over 90 points this season, and with double-digit three-pointers in three of four games, the team shoots well from distance.

Tonight's game airs on the SEC Network Plus (Resort Channel 80).
