Robbed by the GOP

Dear editor:

Help! We're being robbed! If a pickpocket or purse snatcher were to rob you in broad daylight, you would yell loudly. Don't think this will happen to you? Think again. If either version of the GOP tax bill is passed you will be robbed, unless your income or company puts you in the top 1 percent.

Just last week, Time magazine listed Arkansas as the hungriest state in the union with 16 percent of our children not getting enough to eat. All of our Arkansas delegates will support this bill, as they are told to do by their big corporate donors, thus robbing child welfare, Medicare, Medicaid and soon, Social Security. This could happen before the end of the year ... so you had better start yelling today or else face this bill and a $1.5 billion additional tax burden on the country.

Meanwhile, giant corporations get their tax deductions reduced from 35 percent to 20 percent, which they will spend buying back their own stock to stable their stock price. And they will keep billions in offshore tax havens in countries where they are paying one digit tax rates. The U.S. could drop the corporate rate to 10 percent and they will still leave the money abroad. So much for the "trickle down" theory.

Trump is lying when he says the American people will get a "great" Christmas present in lower taxes. Don't believe it and tell your reps in Congress they will be out of office in the next election if they support this scam!
