A traffic stop by Arkansas State Police led to a manhunt in the Lakeshore Drive area when the driver fled his vehicle Thursday night.
Hot Springs police Cpl. Kirk Zaner said state police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle just before 9 p.m. Thursday and the driver accelerated away from the patrol unit, leading troopers on a pursuit.
The driver wrecked his vehicle at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Village Road, just south of the King Expressway overpass over McLeod Street.
The driver fled from the vehicle, leading to a manhunt. Hot Springs police set up a perimeter around the designated area, and Hot Springs National Park responded with a K-9 unit to assist.
Arkansas State Police said the incident is still under investigation, as the fleeing suspect is still at large.
