SETF seeks volunteers for Letters of Hope

LITTLE ROCK -- The Syrian Emergency Task Force is asking for assistance from volunteers on Saturday to preview Letters of Hope to be sent to citizens in war-torn Syria.

The SETF began to operate The Wisdom House elementary school for orphans in August 2016 with the support of a working group of volunteers in Conway. Natalie Larrison joined fellow Lakeside High School and University of Central Arkansas alum Mouaz Moustafa, co-founder and executive director, in 2016 as director of outreach for the organization.

Larrison helped establish the Letters for Hope program, which sends letters of support to the people of Syria. The school is located in a village in the Idlib Governorate province in the country's northwest region.

Volunteers from the working group are seeking additional helpers to read letters to screen any questionable materials or statements in the organization's office space in Little Rock at the bottom of Cantrell Hill from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. before they are sent to Syria. Volunteers interested can email Larrison at [email protected].
