Sheriff's Reserve unit releases August hours

Garland County sheriff 's Reserve Capt. Hank Nowak reports that reserve deputies worked a total of 433 hours in August, including 213 hours in the patrol division, responding to 57 calls and writing three reports.

"Also, for the opening of school on Aug. 14, there were four reserve deputies at the Mountain Pine School complex to do 'Meet and Greet' to the parents and kids," Nowak said.

The unit, which is comprised of unpaid volunteers, provides support to the sheriff 's department's different divisions throughout the year.
