Kain was charged with misdemeanor counts of obstructing governmental operations, punishable by up to a year in jail, and driving on a suspended license.

Crotts remained in custody Tuesday on a zero bond and Kain remained in custody in lieu of $1,500 bond. They are both set to appear Sept. 25 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, Deputy Jon Lane and Cpl. Jeremy Simpson were dispatched to Airport Road in reference to a woman reportedly being chased in her vehicle by a black four-door car with missing lights.

Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the 1900 block of Airport Road, made a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who initially gave a false name, but was later identified as Kain.

Crotts was located sitting in the back seat and it was determined both men were on probation and had search waivers.

During a search of the vehicle, Simpson reportedly located a bag in the back seat with two syringes and paperwork with Crotts' name on it. Crotts was searched and in his front left pocket, Simpson reportedly located three baggies with crystalline residue, a silver container containing one Ambien pill and two unfired bullets.

Crotts was asked where the firearm was located, but he allegedly claimed there was no gun.

A .380 automatic was allegedly found under the back of the front passenger seat near Crotts' feet. One of the bullets found in his pocket matched the firearm. The weapon reportedly had one magazine in it and one round in the chamber.

A green glass pipe with crystalline residue was also reportedly located in the cargo compartment of the back passenger door.
