A registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday morning following allegations that he used numerous social media accounts to talk to underage males despite telling Hot Springs police he wasn't on social media.

Sean Daniel Bosley, 34, who lists an address of 134 Cenark Lane, was taken into custody shortly before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a felony count of failure to comply with sex offender reporting and registration requirements, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

He remained in custody Thursday in lieu of $3,500 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the Garland County Sex Offender Registry, Bosley was convicted in 2002 of rape for forcing a 12-year-old male to perform oral sex and is assessed as a level 3 sex offender with a high risk of reoffending.

According to the affidavit, on Sept. 7, 2017, Bosley reported to the police department for a verification appointment. Detective Kenny May asked him to disclose all his email addresses and social media accounts as required under the sex offender registration guidelines, which includes all user names, screen names, and instant messaging names.

Bosley reportedly denied having any social media accounts. On Sept. 18, May spoke to a citizen who stated Bosley had numerous social media accounts that he used to talk to minors, including a Kik account with the screen name "hangerboy870."

May allegedly found an online conversation between Bosley and another person where Bosley was using the "hangerboy870" name and noted it included a profile photo he recognized as Bosley.

On Sept. 20, Bosley voluntarily came to the police department for questioning and told May he "needed to be honest" about social media accounts he had "neglected to tell May about." He then reportedly admitted to having Facebook, Twitter, Grindr, GROWLr and Instagram accounts he had not disclosed.

When asked about the Kik account, Bosley denied having one at first until May showed him the conversation he had located on Kik. May said Bosley told him, "he did not want to tell me about the accounts because he was afraid of going back to prison."

Bosley also reportedly admitted to using his Twitter account to send photos of his privates to a 14- or 15-year-old male.
