MAGNET COVE -- Fountain Lake junior Ahman Johnson earned the meet high point award in Magnet Cove's Panther Relays on Thursday as the Cobras took first place in the senior high boys' competition.
Johnson won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles, placed second in the long jump and fourth in the 200-meter dash. He ran on Fountain Lake's winning 4x100-meter relay team with senior Parion Johnson, junior Andrew Roberson and junior Dylan Wasson.
Parion Johnson earned the second most points at the meet, winning the 100-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. The Arkansas Tech football signee also placed third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the long jump.
Watson Chapel took first place in the girls' points with Lake Hamilton's junior varsity team placing second. The junior varsity Wolves also took third in the boys' points.
Fountain Lake, Lake Hamilton and Magnet Cove were joined at the meet by Bismarck, Centerpoint, Cutter Morning Star, Mount Ida and Mountain Pine. Other schools participating included Abundant Life, the Baptist Preparatory School, Bigelow, Caddo Hills, Camden Fairview, England, Glen Rose, Lisa Academy North, Nevada, Ouachita and Poyen.
Margie Florini, a junior at Fountain Lake, took first place in the 200-meter dash. She also placed sixth in the 100-meter dash.
Winners for Lake Hamilton included Ethan Wacaster, senior, in the boys' 800-meter run; Samantha Springer, junior, in the girls' discus; and Houston Baber, sophomore, in the boys' 3200-meter run.
Magnet Cove senior Trenton Barber took first place in the boys' discus. Sophomore Hailey Rimmer gave the Lady Panthers first-place points in the 3200-meter run. Rimmer also placed sixth in the 1600-meter run.
Bismarck sophomore Esther Filipek picked up two first-place finishes. She won the girls' 800-meter run and the 1600-meter run.
