Testimonies brunch Friday at HSV church

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Three members of the Barcelona Road Baptist Church family will share their personal stories -- or testimonies -- from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday in the Fellowship Hall at 390 Barcelona Road in Hot Springs Village.

The public is welcome to join the audience and hear how Bill Armstrong, Ruth Manweiler and Harold Garrett came to know the Lord as their Savior, and how that has changed their lives.

There will be a carry-in brunch, with favorite breakfast casseroles, finger foods and snacks to share with everyone.

St. Phillips celebrates anniversary of pastor, wife

St. Phillips Church of God in Christ, 237 Walnut St., will celebrate Pastor Richard and first lady Pearl Harper's seventh anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. Superintendent David Withers, pastor of Living Waters COGIC, will be the guest speaker. The theme will be "Standing on the Promises of God."

M-i-A Weekend: free clothes, food and more, service at Roanoke

Roanoke Baptist Church, 336-338 Whittington Ave., will host a Missions-in-Action Weekend fellowship with the community. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today, the church will provide clothing, household items and a lunch to all who come by the parking lot. Everything is free of charge.

The weekend culminates at 3 p.m. Sunday with a worship service. The guest messenger, Sister Gladys M. Jones, is leading lady of Union Missionary Baptist Church. Her ministry credentials include: a bachelor's degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary and DCEAC of the National Baptist Convention, certified teacher for National Baptist Sunday School Publishing Board, certified Dean of Christian Education, and facilitator for the first and second training series for the Purpose-Driven Life book study.

Fan the Flame Conference at Oaklawn Church

"This is the Day!" TV Ministries and Jo Cromwell will present the Fan the Flame Conference at 7 p.m. Friday, and 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Chapel, 2705 Central Ave.

Participants include Pastor Joshua Rivera, Charles Maris, evangelist Matthew Stevenson, Emily Glidewell Stevenson, Millie Bryant, Paula Jones, Skip Bassham, Garrett Sisters, LaDeidre Maris, psalmist Faye Mosby and Terry Logue Reagle.

Clothes giveaway today at Living Waters COGIC

The Malvern District Mission Spring Clothes Give-away will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Living Waters Church of God in Christ, 306 Grove St. Pastors will serve chili dogs, chips, cookies and water.

Angel Gabriel COGIC has usher board program

Angel Gabriel Church of God in Christ, 155 Lemon St., will have a District Usher Board program at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The theme will be "I Had Rather Be a Doorkeeper in the House of My God, Then to Dwell in the Tents of Wickedness."
