A residence under renovation in the 1300 block of Old Bear Road was a complete loss after a fire that began around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a spokesman for the Piney Fire Department.
Piney Fire Department Lt. Scott Miser said the fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived and took 12 units about three hours to extinguish.
The house was reportedly vacant and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
The house was being remodeled, according to Miser. "It was an old house that had been remodeled many times," he said.
