Lake Hamilton Junior High eighth-grade student Wesley Bonner recently won the state level of the National Geographic Bee Competition on April 6 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. This is the first time Lake Hamilton has had a state winner. School bees were held in schools with fourth- through eighth-grade students throughout the state to determine each school's champion. State champions will compete May 20-23 at the 30th Annual National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C.
