A previously convicted felon was arrested on multiple felony charges early Tuesday after Hot Springs police raided his house and allegedly found drugs, a gun and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Michael Charles Veasley, 42, of 215 Jackson St., was taken into custody at his residence shortly after 6 a.m. and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison, unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate a crime, punishable by up to 20 years, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with purpose to deliver, possession of a firearm by certain persons, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to six years.

Veasley was being held on zero bond and appeared Wednesday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, investigators with the Special Investigations-Narcotics Unit utilized the department's SWAT team to execute a narcotics search warrant at Jackson's residence and located Veasley, a woman, 26, and a 2-year-old child inside in the master bedroom.

Once the house was secured, investigators searched the residence and allegedly found a defaced .22-caliber revolver loaded with six rounds, a bag with 81.9 grams of marijuana, two boxes of baggies, digital scales and 2.7 grams of marijuana scattered around on a table in the kitchen.

In the master bedroom, they reportedly found another set of digital scales, baggies with residue, a box of .22-caliber shells and a cellphone. In the living room, they reportedly found another set of digital scales, and in a Cadillac parked outside they found a bag with another 16.1 grams of marijuana for a total of 103.8 grams confiscated.

In searching Veasley's person, investigators allegedly found $344 in cash, a baggie with more marijuana, and his ID.

It was noted the residence belonged to someone else and Veasley was convicted of felony counts of theft of property and breaking or entering in Pulaski County on Sept. 14, 1995, so he was prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm.

Agents with the 18th Judicial District East Drug Task Force seized the money recovered.
