Veterans of Foreign Wars District 9 Caregiver of the Year award was recently presented to Pat Sky-Eagle Reedy by VFW District 9 Cmdr. Robert Lafond, a member of the Malvern VFW. At the presentation were the originators of the award Past District Cmdrs. Jack Dobbs of VFW 10483 in Hot Springs Village and Wade Beams of VFW 2278 in Hot Springs.

This is the ninth year of this award. It is designed to recognize a caregiver at the Veterans Clinic in Hot Springs who continually provides "excellent care" to patients. Staff and peers are consulted, as this is part of the outstanding recognition.

Reedy was recognized for her exemplary service to veterans. Amanda Gaston, nurse manager, and the staff were in agreement in deciding this year's recipient. The Hot Springs Community Based Out-patient Clinic is managed by Gaston, who has been there for six years.

If a patient at the clinic and receiving an X-ray, it's a sure bet Reedy will be assisting you. Reedy has been with the CBOC for six years and previously worked at the Little Rock VA for four years. She has been in radiology for 12 years. She resides in Lonsdale and is married to Dave Reedy, they have two children, Jake and Becky.
