A Malvern man and a Bonnerdale man were arrested late Wednesday after being found with a U-Haul truck that was reportedly stolen.

James Lee Asbury, 19, who lists an Old Dallas Road residence in Bonnerdale, and Denmon James Tremayne, 24, of Malvern, were taken into custody at Asbury's residence shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and each charged with a felony count of theft by receiving, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Both remained in custody Thursday on $3,500 bond and are set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, at around 10 p.m. Wednesday deputies were told to be on the lookout for a white GMC Sierra U-Haul truck, valued at $21,000, in the area of Old Dallas Road after an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officer spotted it at Asbury's residence.

Montgomery County Chief Deputy Will Brakefield said Asbury, Tremayne and a third man had been seen in the vehicle earlier in the day by a man they had asked for gas money. He said another witness had seen the suspects in the vehicle earlier in the day on Old Caddo Gap Road.

Brakefield arrived at Asbury's residence and detained Asbury and Tremayne. Tremayne told sheriff's deputies he was in the vehicle earlier in the day but was unaware that it was stolen.

Asbury reportedly told deputies the vehicle was parked behind his residence and the keys were inside the residence. Deputy Stacy Morgan accompanied Asbury inside to retrieve the keys.

The Little Rock Police Department was notified and the truck was towed.
