RUSTON, La. -- The Louisiana Tech men's basketball team begins December with a home game against Houston Baptist today at 4 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.

The matchup will be streamed live on CUSA.tv, which requires a subscription.

Louisiana Tech (4-3) made road trips to Kansas and Delaware in November, but the Bulldogs will have five home games and just two road games this month. They will leave the state just once.

The Bulldogs fell twice in the Delaware Invitational in two close games against UNC-Greensboro () and Delaware (). They lost, 75-71, to the home Blue Hens despite setting single-game highs this season in field goal percentage, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage.

Junior forward Oliver Powell was a bright spot for the Bulldogs. He recorded a team-high 14 points and five rebounds against the Blue Hens. He averaged 13.3 points while shooting 68 percent from the field with seven rebounds per game in the last three contest.

Powell is one of four players currently averaging double-digit points with the sophomore duo of Exavian Christon, of Hot Springs, and Anthony Duruji leading the way at 12 points per game apiece. A third sophomore, Amorie Archibald, is close behind at 11.1 points per game.

Houston Baptist (2-3) is one of four Southland Conference opponents Louisiana Tech will face this season. The Huskies, led by Ron Cottrell in his 28th season at the helm, are in their sixth season in the league after spending the previous 16 seasons at the NAIA level.

The visitors' non-conference schedule includes road games at Power 5 opponents Arizona, Wisconsin and Wake Forest. The Huskies pulled out a 93-91 overtime win against the Demon Deacons for the program's first-ever win over an ACC team.

Ian Dubose leads three players averaging double-digit points with 15.6 points per game.

Louisiana Tech leads the all-time series, 11-2. The programs played each other 11 times in the 1970s, but they have only played twice since with the most recent matchup coming in 2010. The Bulldogs have won four straight in the series.
