Lakeside bowling sweeps Clarksville

Lakeside's varsity and junior varsity bowling teams swept Clarksville Monday at Central Bowling Lanes.

The boys varsity team (1-0) took a 10-3 win, knocking down 2,482 pins to Clarksville's 1,752. Jimmy Tejcek led the Rams with a 418 series (199, 219). Tyson Keeney bowled a 366 series (168, 198) for the group while Dilann Allen bowled the highest game for the varsity team with a 228 while paired with Kade Arguello who bowled a 121 in the first game.

Landon Gray finished with a 398 series (226, 172), Hunter Rhodes had a 398 series (141, 157) and Kade Tarbet bowled a 327 with games of 148 and 179.

The girls varsity team (1-0) swept Clarksville, 13-0, with 1,708 total pins to 1,273. Kaithlyn Nguyen led the team with a 262 series (126, 136). Destiny Phillips bowled with a 238 series with games of 113 and 125, and Chloe Junkerman finished with a 206 series (90, 116).

Paige Hines led the second team with a 238 series (113, 125). Jenna Sims bowled a 216 series (122, 94), and Abby Shelby each finished with a 206 series with scores of 90 and 116.

The boys junior varsity team also took a 13-0 win, knocking down 1,902 pins while Clarksville downed 1,142. The first team was led by Cael Broughton who bowled a 282 series with games of 131 and 151. Caiden Ingram finished with a series of 221 (127, 94), and Tanner Roberts had a series of 208 (110, 98).

Marcos Villareal led the second team with a 296 series with scores of 169 and 127. Allen and Arguello also bowled a game each for the junior varsity squad. Allen finished with a 183 in the first game while Arguello bowled a 255, and Kevin Henson finished with a 201 series.

Lakeside also had a mixed team (1-0) which won, 7.5-5.5, knocking down 1,472 pins to Clarksville's 951. Matt Williams bowled a 253 series with games of 155 and 98, and Maya Bishop finished with a 181 series (79, 102).

Brice Langley bowled a 241 series with games of 137 and 104, Mary Dugger had a 225 series (116, 109) and Anissa Atkins finished with a series of 160 (70, 90).

Lakeside will host Hot Springs and Lake Hamilton Monday in a conference tri-match at 4 p.m. at Central Bowling Lanes. The team will then travel to Texarkana on Thursday for another conference matchup.
