Ray Rains, 77, of Hot Springs, passed away Dec. 7, 2018. He was born May 23, 1941, to Bill and Liddie Marie Summit Rains. Ray was a Member of Norman Full Gospel Pentecostal Church. He loved to play the guitar and sing gospel music. Ray was a loving father and grandfather who was loved and will be missed by all.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Linda Marie Rains; second wife, Linda Sue Rains; brother, J.L. Rains; and sisters, Dean Brake, Brenda Hatton and Linda Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, JoAnn Dodd (Darrell), of Royal; sons, Darrell Green (Patricia), of Denver, Colo., and Buddy Green, of Denver, Colo.; brother, Bruce Rains, of Hot Springs; sisters, Donnie Smiley (Jim), of Hot Springs, Pam Van Auken, of Fla., Melba Berry, of Pearcy, Sue Wolken, of Hot Springs, and Rhonda Bradshaw (Ricky), of Pearcy; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
A celebration of Ray's life will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Doyne Alexander and Brother Derrell Burgen officiating.
Burial will follow in Rocky Cemetery in Sims, Ark.
Pallbearers include Dustin Green, Dylan Green, Caleb Dodd, Michael Smiley, Cory Steele and David Wilborn.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Divers, Mindy Farmer, APN, and the Staff of Arkansas Hospice.
