Informational meeting planned
on Audubon Christmas Bird Count
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- An informational meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Coronado Center on the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, the nation's longest-running citizen science bird project.
Chris Cash, 2018 recipient of the HSV Audubon President's Award and manager of the local CBC for four years, will detail the event, give bird ID tips and explain how to participate in the field or by identifying and counting birds that are visiting feeders. Karen Geiger will assist.
There will be cookies, coffee and door prizes.
Knights of Columbus to attend
St. John's fundraiser Thursday
Knights of Columbus Council 6419 has canceled its Thursday business meeting so that members, wives, families and friends can attend St. John's Lasagna Dinner in support of the local Catholic school.
Dinner will be served in the St. John's Gymnasium from 6-8 p.m. at a cost of $10 per person. Donations above that amount will be accepted.
Ouachita Mountain Hikers
plan flex hike on Saturday
The Ouachita Mountain Hikers will hold a flex hike, 5.9 or 8.3 miles, on Little Blakely South and Rocky Ridge loops. There is no hike on Thursday.
