Did God pick Trump?

Dear editor:

I've been pondering the debate I think Brother Hoffman has spurred on over whether God picked Trump. I'm not sure I'm qualified to speak for God, but I suppose I can speculate. I think maybe he did. Some Democrats have pointed out that if he picked Trump, he must have picked Obama. Got to admit, they have a pretty good argument and so once again I have to say: he probably did. But to what end?

Remember, God needed both Pilate and Herod to carry out his plan to have his son crucified so he could rise from the dead and be the salvation of the world. We're talking about God's will, not our own, so why would he pick both Obama and Trump?

His ultimate plan, as we know, is the destruction of the world, so he may have needed both of them to carry out his plan. He needed Obama to be weak so the Mullahs and Rocket Man, who also may be part of the plan, could obtain and develop atomic bombs and the means to deliver them, and he needed Trump to be strong so when the time came, he would respond with overwhelming counter force and essentially the world would be engulfed in fire and brimstone. Remember were talking about his will, his plan, not ours, thus fulfilling scriptures.

What might we learn from this? After this destruction, he will ride in to separate the wheat from the chaff. Maybe a little repentance would be in order for all of us, but especially if you think you may be chaff. Maybe it's time to get right with the Lord. Maybe it's time to vote Republican and save yourselves ... I'm sorry for that last line, sometimes I just can't help myself, he doesn't care about how we vote, just what's in our hearts ... at least I think he doesn't.
