Pinocchio's White House

Dear editor:

Well, Mary Robinson, in her last missile of uncoordinated ramblings, finally tells us readers why she is so blind to the many faults of our POTUS. She admits that she has no idea who Michael Gerson is and does not read his column, "which probably lambastes the president."

If Mary had read my recent letter, she would know that Gerson is a former adviser to President George W. Bush (and a long-standing real Republican who thinks, not tweets).

Mary's unwillingness to read anyone else's point of view indicates the reason she is such a defender of Frump -- sorry, Trump. He does not bother to read anything. He watches TV. And he does not even take the advice of the very ones he has appointed to help him in his totally unprepared role as POTUS. That's a bit like the doctor who does not heal himself.

To put it bluntly, that is a strong sign of ignorance. But, after all, if one knows it all and has all the answers, as Trump has testified that he does, why bother even appointing advisers. Why not use all those millions in salaries for bad roads and bad buildings and such. But as Shakespeare's character Bottom says, "One finds very little reason these days."

Pinocchio's nose in the White House seems to get longer each week, where the only consistency appears to be inconsistency. Take care, dear readers, and stop to smell the coffee. There are some pleasant aromas out there that will overcome the stench drifting our way from Washington.
