One of two suspects from a home invasion robbery on Saturday was in custody in Texarkana on Wednesday while the other, a local man who is considered armed and extremely dangerous, was still being sought, Hot Springs police Officer 1st Class Joey Williams said.

Dennis Ray Fitzgerald, 56, and Amber Lynn Martin, 42, who both list a Rockcliff Circle address, were both being sought on felony charges of aggravated residential burglary, punishable by up to life in prison, and felony theft of property involving a stolen vehicle.

Martin, who was in custody in Texarkana on Wednesday, was also being sought on a felony charge of second-degree battery, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

"They should be considered armed and dangerous so if anyone sees them don't try to approach them, especially Martin, just call 911 immediately," Williams told The Sentinel-Record on Wednesday prior to her arrest.

Fitzgerald is described as a black male, 6 foot, 160 pounds, who uses a cane. They allegedly stole a blue 2007 Ford Fusion and Fitzgerald may still be driving it. Anyone with information about the suspects should call police at 321-6789.

According to an incident report, shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, Officer 1st Class Mark Wilson responded to a residence on Morrison Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle and made contact with the male resident, 48, who said he and his wife, 51, had been robbed about an hour earlier.

He said that around 6 p.m. he was awakened by a noise coming from the living room and when he went to check he saw a man he recognized as Fitzgerald holding a pistol and a woman he recognized as Martin holding an unknown weapon.

He said the two were both yelling at his wife and upon seeing him, Fitzgerald pointed the pistol at him and began accusing him of "stealing stuff" and damaging his vehicle. At that point, Martin struck the victim's wife in the forehead with the weapon in her hand prompting his wife to flee out the front door.

The victim was also able to flee out the rear door and he located his wife at another residence and they later returned to their home to discover their car was missing.

The victim noted he and his wife had met Martin and Fitzgerald a couple of weeks earlier and had given them rides and attempted to help them out. The victim's wife was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a laceration to her forehead.

After further investigation, warrants were issued for Martin and Fitzgerald.
