Levi Hospital has announced the opening of a new satellite clinic, Levi Physical Therapy, located at 147 Section Line Road, Suite A, in the Keystone Crossing Center.

The clinic was formerly located inside the YMCA and recently moved to their new location at the end of October.

"Due to an increase in patient volume, we had to look for other options to allow ample space to treat patients and still have a presence on the south side of town," Clint Crabtree, director of Outpatient Therapy Services for Levi Hospital, said in a news release.

"Having a clinic that is conveniently located to where a person lives is key to a patient completing their prescribed therapy, so it was important to continue to have a satellite clinic in this area of town. Many options were explored when it became apparent we had outgrown our space at the YMCA," Crabtree said.

The Levi Hospital Outpatient Physical Therapy program has enjoyed a 10-year partnership with the YMCA to provide the second location in Hot Springs. Moving from the YMCA was necessitated by the need for additional staff, space, equipment and treatment rooms, the release said.

Levi Physical Therapy continues to treat many types of patients including those with orthopedic injury or surgery, low back pain, neck pain, stroke, brain injury, and balance problems, it said.

"The new clinic has given us the opportunity to add women's health physical therapy services as related to pelvic dysfunction," Stephanie Jones, the therapist providing this treatment at Levi South, said. "In our new clinic we have doubled our space and added more state of the art equipment to help us better serve our patients."

Levi Hospital has gained a reputation of providing superior care within its defined services and focuses on meeting the community health needs. The hospital continues to be well recognized for its work within outpatient rehabilitation therapy, and for the fourth year running received The Sentinel Record Reader's Choice Award for Best Outpatient Physical Therapy Provider.

"We have a great formula for success here at Levi," Levi President and CEO Pat McCabe said.

"While we have the latest in therapy equipment, it is the team of dedicated professionals, both veterans and newly licensed, whose sole purpose is to bring the patients to their highest level of functional independence. They do this through a hands-on, caring and supportive approach in a fun and highly energized environment. I am proud of the caring tradition that Levi Hospital has had since 1914," McCabe said.

In addition to outpatient rehabilitation therapy services, Levi Hospital also provides adult inpatient psychiatric care and Transitions Counseling -- an outpatient counseling program -- among other services.
