A Hot Springs man in a wheelchair was reportedly struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday evening on Airport Road near Adcock Road, Arkansas State Police Cpl. Michael Reed said Thursday.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the victim, 53, was traveling in his wheelchair from the north side of Airport to the south side near the Shell station, 1591 Airport Road, when he was struck by a white pickup truck that fled the scene, Reed said.
The man's family was notified, and medical personnel who were passers-by stopped to help him.
Reed said the incident is still under investigation and they are trying to locate and identify the driver.
