Chamber announces communications manager

The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce announces the addition of Hot Springs native Mara Kuhn to its staff. Kuhn will fill the role of communications manager and "is excited to promote and help grow Hot Springs."

Kuhn is deeply rooted in the Hot Springs community. In addition to being a native, she has covered local news and events as a photographer and reporter for The Sentinel-Record for 14 years.

"We are thrilled to have Mara join our team at the Chamber," said Gary Troutman, president and CEO of the Chamber, in the press release. "Most of us vividly remember her numerous award-winning front-page photos in The Sentinel-Record. She was also named 'Employee of the Year' at the newspaper a few years ago. To have someone with her talent level, as well as her warm connections and love for her community, will be huge asset for the local businesses affiliated with our Chamber, as well as our overall operation within the Chamber and Metro Partnership. We have many ideas on how we can best utilize Mara's skill set to promote local businesses and Hot Springs and Garland County as a whole."

In this role, Kuhn will provide communication and image support to the Chamber and the Hot Springs Metro Partnership programs, activities and projects. She will implement marketing strategies for various social media platforms.

"I am thrilled to be joining an amazing team that has already brought much growth to the city I love," Kuhn said in the release. "I look forward to working on this team to help bring even more economic development to Hot Springs."

The communications manager serves as the primary contact between the staff team, its marketing agency, volunteers, members and the public in terms of content, message and image.

Communications is a key element to the mission of the Chamber and Partnership, which is to create economic opportunity and generate positive growth throughout the Hot Springs region.

Kuhn holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Arkansas State University and is a graduate of Hot Springs High School.

The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce is Hot Springs' leading advocate and champion for business.
