First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs participated in the Matthew 5:9 Project for First Responders. Its Prayer Team distributed bracelets and pins to the first responders of Hot Springs. The rubber bracelets are imprinted with the scripture Matthew 5:9 that reads, "Blessed are the peacemakers." Bracelets and pins were given to Central Fire Station, Garland County Sheriff's Department, LifeNet and the Garland County Detention Center.
